What is a Carpenter Ant?

A carpenter ant lives in a network of communicating galleries in the wood of a dwelling and removes small irregular, sawdust-like pieces, which they carry and deposit outside the colony.

Appearance and Appetite 

Carpenter ants will feed on almost all types of human food as well as on insects. In infested premises Carpenter Ants may be seen wandering aimlessly and often congregate in damp areas where food is available. The Carpenter Ant is black in colour, and ½ inch long.

 

How do I control a Carpenter Ant infestation? 

An integrated approach is required much like in the situation with Pharaoh Ants. After chemical spray has been implemented the upmost cleanliness is required.
